BG’s El-Hage makes it three in a row

Lebanon – Bike Generation’s rider Zaher El-Hage wins his third consecutive Lebanese MTB national title, after pulling ahead of the field in the last round of the championship. This is also the third consecutive win this year for the Specialized rider in as many races. Quite an achievement for the cycling Lebanese star.

This final race of the calendar was dominated by El-Hage as he took the lead with a solid start and kept a fantastic pace on a highly technical 24 km track. Combining perfectly agility, power and endurance, he never looked back and controlled the race from the lead.

Behind him several riders fell down as they couldn’t get to grip with the treacherous nature of the terrain, tough on both men and machines. With 880 meters of “ascent and an equal amount of descent on a tough rocky track,  El-Hage crossed the line in 1h43m on his lightweight SW Stumpjumper HT. “Riding this bike on such a terrain was a great delight” said El-Hage on his arrival, “I managed my effort all the way and never felt better, and I was able to improve my time on this track significantly over last year’s performance”, added El-Hage.

His next challenges include the national Lebanese Road Bike Championship and the Asian MTB Championship early in 2012.
