FRANK SCHLECK WINS TOUR DE SUISSE

Team Saxo Bank’s Fränk Schleck won Tour de Suisse after having mastered one of the best time trials of his career while teammate, Jakob Fuglsang put in an impressive effort and climbed to third place overall. Lance Armstrong (Radioshack) finished second overall.

The final stage of Tour de Suisse was a time trial over 27 kilometers in and around Liestal and the battle against time produced another level of excitement on the stage outcome and on the overall result.

Team Saxo Bank’s Fränk Schleck had another great day on his time machine and crawled to first place overall while Robert Gesink (Rabobank) had a very bad day.

”I was a little bit surprised myself that it went so well but the good thing about being on the same team as Fabian Cancellara is that you get to know a trick or two about time trialing and he said I could pull it off before the stage. Winning here so close to the Tour de France means a lot to me but my thoughts go to Kim Kirchen and his family who are having a hard time right now,” said Tour de Suisse-winner, Fränk Schleck.

Tony Martin (Columbia) won the stage ahead of Team Saxo Bank’s Fabian Cancellara.
